Renowned rock artist Irene Grandi and jazzist Mario Biondi will be replacing singer Pino Daniele at the Concerto di Natale, which will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre on December 4. The concert will be broadcast on the Italian TV Channel RAIDUE on Christmas Eve.

Other performers at the concert will include Gigi D'Alessio, Antonella Ruggiero, Rock-band Skunk Anansie with their celebrated singer Skin, Grammy Award Winner Al Jarreau, Noa, Soprano Maria Abela, Cesaria Evora, Lighea, Max Gazze`, ‘Les Pretres’ - a new group of priests ranking first amongst the top 50 in the music scene in France; the duo Musica Nuda; Emma Marrone, winner of the ninth edition of Amici; and the New York State Gospel Choir.

Maestro Renato Serio will be conducting the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra at this Concert which will also see the participation of Maltese Choir Voices, together with a choir of children under the direction of Soprano Gillian Zammit.

For the fourth consecutive year, Italian TV presenter Mara Venier will be hosting the show.

As with the previous editions, the Christmas Concert this year is also being held for charity: the reconstruction of Salesian schools destroyed by the earthquake in Haiti. The concert is produced by Prime Time Promotions to support the campaign of solidarity “HAITI CHIAMA” promoted by the Don Bosco Foundation Worldwide.

Dar tal-Providenza will also benefit from a donation from the proceeds of the concert.
