Mosta Primary B was last week the first school to hold an Internet Day under an initiative to introduce the event to all schools taken by the Education Division`s director of Information and Communication Technology, Lawrence Zammit.

E B Vella School welcomed a group of 18 ICT support teachers and MITTS personnel.

The main aim of an Internet Day is to increase awareness about the use of the internet as a tool for learning and social interaction.

Through games, children learnt how data was inputted, published and retrieved on different network configurations.

They also learnt about the internet as a form of communication, from direct publishing (website) and e-mail, to bulletin boards, chatrooms and video conferencing.

In another session, they were provided with techniques on how to minimise the browsing envelope and focus on the objective at hand by using better search and harvesting methods.
