A large number of tourists and students visiting Malta, especially in summer, would like information on our University.

The University of Malta traces its origins to the Collegium Melitense, founded in 1592. It has always enjoyed an excellent reputation with leading universities overseas, with whom it has signed several co-operation agreements.

The modern campus is situated at Msida, three kilometers away from the capital, Valletta. The student body numbers close to 8,000, including over 500 international students from 70 countries.

The Foundation for International Studies is the international arm of the University of Malta. It has the responsibility of promoting and initiating, at the international level, research, conferences and training activities.

Its programmes and institutes cover a wide range of topics, including international relations, the environment and future generations, islands and small states, and coastal management.
