Over 59,000 Bank of Valletta plc shares changed hands today across twenty one trades. The Bank's share price closed unchanged at €2.51 after recovering from an intra-day low of €2.499. Lombard Bank Malta plc also closed unchanged at the €2.68 level on increased activity totalling 25,300 shares.

On the other hand, HSBC Bank Malta plc edged 0.4% higher to regain the €2.66 level but on much lower volumes of 1,000 shares.

Last Friday's 5.3% jump in Malta International Airport plc shares was short lived as the equity reversed most of Friday's gains with a 3.8% drop during this morning's session to the €1.52 level. A total of 5,400 MIA shares transacted today. Early next week the airport operator is expected to publish its August traffic statistics.

GO plc and RS2 Software plc both closed unchanged on low volumes ahead of their respective half-year results publication. RS2 is expected to report its half-year figures later on this afternoon whilst the quad play telecom operator is scheduled to publish its 2011 interim results on Wednesday.

MIDI plc and 6pm Holdings plc also expected to publish their interim results later on today. Medserv plc and Grand Harbour Marina plc should follow suit tomorrow.

On the bond market, the Rizzo Farrugia MGS Index eased minimally lower to just under 989 points as Eurozone yields recovered marginally towards the 2.18% level. On the corporate bond market, the gains registered last week in the bonds issued by Mediterranean Investments Holding plc were maintained this morning and the 6.25% Corinthia Finance plc 2019 bonds advanced by 200 basis points to the par level.
