Waterreus: Rangers goalkeeper Ronald Waterreus has left the Scottish Premier League after failing to agree terms on a new contract. Waterreus quit after being offered a one-year extension. Waterreus, 35, signed for Rangers in January 2005 from Manchester City to cover for injured German Stefan Klos.

Arsenal for sale: Uk-raine's capital Kiev plans to announce a tender to sell top flight soccer club Arsenal, Deputy Mayor Valery Pustovoitenko was quoted as saying yesterday. He said officials were still deciding on a suitable price for the club. Arsenal finished 12th of in the 16-team league last season.

Cisse: Striker Djibril Cisse sparked a major World Cup scare for France when he suffered a leg injury 10 minutes into a warm-up match with China yesterday. Marseille-bound Cisse was hurt in a clash with a Chinese defender in his team's final game before they fly out to Germany for the finals today.

Eriksson: England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said he would not negotiate with Real Madrid until after the World Cup finals in Germany. A candidate for the presidency of Real, Arturo Baldasano, said on Tuesday that he had a commitment from the Swede to become his coach if he won the election on July 2.
