Tottenham: Hertha Berlin have accepted a bid from Tottenham Hotspur for midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng with German media putting Spurs' offer at five million pounds. Boateng, 20, has played five times for Germany's under-21 team and is said to be on the brink of a first full cap.

Getafe: Getafe have signed Argentine goalkeeper Oscar Ustari from Independiente for a fee that Spanish media reported as being a club record six million euros. The 21-year-old, who has a six-year contract, was a member of the Argentina squad at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Eto'o Jr: David Eto'o, younger brother of Barcelona and Cameroon striker Samuel, is on trial at Tunisian club Esperance. The 20-year-old forward, last on the books of Real Mallorca in Spain, arrived last week at the Tunis-based club, who are in the group phase of this year's African Champions League.

South Africa: World Cup hosts South Africa will continue their build-up to the 2010 finals with friendlies against world champions Italy, the US and Scotland this year. They will meet the Scots at Aberdeen's Pittodrie ground on Aug. 22, visit Italy on Oct. 17 and host the US on Nov. 17.

Togo: The president of the Togo FA, Avlessi Adaglo Tata, was suspended for eight years and a Gambian referee has been banned for life after being found guilty of being involved in a bribery scandal, the Confederation of African Football said. Tata provided money to the fourth official at the match to pass on the referee, Pa Abdou Sarr of Gambia.

Barcelona: Barcelona will use a disciplinary committee to monitor their players' conduct and attitude, club president Joan Laporta said. The move comes after Laporta accused some squad members of not having pulled their weight during last season, when they failed to win a major trophy. The committee will comprise himself, coach Frank Rijkaard, sports director Txiki Begiristain and the team captains.

Haile Gebrselassie: Ethiopia's champion distance runner Haile Gebrselassie will make his New York racing debut in the NYC Half-Marathon on August 5, the New York Road Runners said. Gebrselassie, fresh off a double world record effort last month when he established world bests for the one-hour run and 20,000 metres on the track at the golden Spike Grand Prix in Ostrava, has set 22 world records in his career. The 34-year-old Ethiopian has won all seven of his previous 13.1-mile races, including a world-record time of 58 minutes, 55 seconds in 2006 in Tempe, Arizona, that was later surpassed by Samuel Wanjiru, of Kenya.
