Ira Losco says she never had plastic surgery and is willing to pose naked.

The photogenic rock chick and multi-award winning singer tells Christian Peregin the photos in her new photographic journal are untouched and she has never taken drugs.

Flicking through the pages of her picture-driven book, it is easy to think of Ira Losco as a narcissistic sex symbol obsessed with the clothes she wears and the way she looks.

But that is not the case. She comes across a down-to-earth girl who admits she needs a very good bra, a great photographer and lots of good people around her to chisel her beautiful looks.

“I haven’t gotten here just sitting on my ass and letting things fall on my lap. I’ve worked very hard for the success I’ve achieved. Just because I look or act a certain way, it doesn’t mean it was easy,” she says, imbued with charismatic and characteristic confidence.

The pop-rock diva, one of Malta’s few successful recording artists, enjoys speaking candidly, even though it does not always go down well with the public.

She says that although she does not consider herself to be a role-model, she tries to set a good example.

She also talks about plans for a new album next year and her Eurovision experience seven years ago.
