A hunter yesterday filed a judicial protest against MaltaToday denying allegations made about him in articles that appeared last month.

The newspaper reported that Eric Scicluna, 38, had asked to speak to the Police Commissioner about bribery of police officers, an allegation Mr Scicluna said was not true. The protest was filed against MaltaToday editor Saviour Balzan and journalist Karl Stagno Navarra.

Mr Scicluna also denied that during police investigations he had ever made bribery allegations in respect of the police or that he claimed to have bribed an officer in return for his police record to be tampered with. He insisted that no irregular police record was ever issued in his regard and denied he was granted an irregular security guard licence.

Lawyer Joseph Giglio signed the protest.
