As part of its ongoing commitment to support local councils with projects that benefit education, culture and the environment, HSBC recently presented a grant to Żurrieq council for a revamp of its public library.

Some 200 new titles - with subjects that vary from fiction to cookery, Maltese history and classics - have been bought to please a wider range of readers who borrow books from the library, which is now in Dun Ġużepp Zammit Street.

"Our librarian, former teacher Michael Zerafa, is very much in tune with readers' pet subjects and has taken great care to ensure that the library is updated to cater for readers' preferences," mayor Silvio Izzi Savona told HSBC area director, south, Alex Mizzi, and Żurrieq branch manager Mariella Xuereb.
