Over 120 teachers and students recently attended a seminar to share their experiences of participating in current global citizenship education projects in Malta including Conectando Mundos, Make Fair Trade Greener (Estelle), Playing Fair Alternatives and Global Action Schools, and discussed issues related to global citizenship, climate change and fair trade facilitated by development cooperation experts.
The fourth national development education seminar was organised by SKOP, the national platform of Maltese Non-Governmental Develop-ment Organisations (NGDOs) in collaboration with Inizjamed, Koperattiva Kummerċ Ġust (KKĠ) and Kopin which are involved in these projects.
SKOP and these various organisations are publishing on their respective websites a set of educational resources used during the seminar workshops, which was held at Patri Ġużč Delia primary school, Siġġiewi, part of St Ignatius College.
SKOP is Malta's network of voluntary and non-governmental organisations working in inter-national development and humanitarian aid. Other SKOP members are CamYouths, Forum for Justice and Cooperation, Integra Foundation, Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice, Jesuit Refugee Service, Kare4Kenya, Moviment Graffitti, PeaceLab, Share Foundation, and Third World Group.
