The Housing Authority has put 115 apartments, eight maisonettes and 98 garages for sale.

Family Affairs Minister Chris Said said the properties will be sold at subsidised price that will be 25% less than the market price.

The properties are in Buġibba, Kirkop, Mellieħa, Mgarr, Mrieħel, Mtarfa, Naxxar, Paola, Pembroke, Qawra, Qrendi, San Ġwann, Tarxien, Żejtun and Żurrieq.

He said the properties may be paid for in either of two ways. In the first case, 10% of the subsidised price will be paid upon the promise of sale agreement, with the rest being paid upon the final contract not later than six months later.

In the second case, 15% would be paid on the promise of sale agreement and the rest would be paid by monthly instalments without interest. They payment period may be up to 20 years. 

10% of the properties will be allocated to persons who suffer a disability of a chronic illness.

All applicants must be Maltese or EU citizens aged over 18. There are income caps depending on the category of applicants.

The properties will be open for viewing on Saturday May 12 and Sunday May 20 Applications will be received between May 14 and 21. Further information is available at www.housingauthority.com.mt
