House prices in Malta went up by 5.5% in the April to June quarter of 2017 compared with the same period in 2016, considerably higher than the EU average of 4.4%.
However, the increase was still much slower than the three highest recorded in the member states: Czech Republic (+13.3%), Ireland (+10.6%) and Lithuania (+10.2%).
There was only one member state where prices fell: Italy (-0.2%).
According to Eurostat, prices in the EU rose by 1.8% since the first three months of the year, with Malta seeing an increase of 3%.
