A 29-year-old holiday maker was on Saturday charged with trafficking cocaine by sharing the drug.

Joseph Vadamootoo, a British resident on holiday in Malta, pleaded guilty to sharing cocaine and was fined €500.

He was discharged on condition he would not commit another crime in the European Union in the next two years.

Inspector Justine Grech prosecuted. Magistrate Doreen Clark presided.
