Ladies Running Club member Astrid Fleri Soler completed the distance in the Comrades 90K marathon held recently over a route between Pietermaritzburg and Durban in South Africa. Fleri Soler became the first Maltese runner to attempt the gruelling race with rigid cut-off times for completion of each stage. Twelve thousand runners were on the starting line, of which 4,000 were first-timers. Organisers said 10,000 ran the whole marathon.
