A joint GreenPak-Wasteserv pilot project in Ħamrun, Fgura and Attard starts today in a bid to maximise the amount of collected paper and carton that is suitable for recycling

Significant amounts of paper in waste recycling bags are being soiled making it unsuitable for recycling. Now a door-to-door collection specifically for paper and cardboard placed in shopping bags, transparent bags, cardboard boxes or other suitable containers has been organised for Thursdays.

The current collection on Tuesdays of plastic and metal recyclable waste will continue tobe collected in the green/grey bag.

In this recyclable bag, one can place plastic and metal recyclable objects such as plastic bottles, clean food containers, metal and aluminium cans.

GreenPak and Wasteserv are working in sync on this pilot project and with local councils will analyse results and determine future operations.
