A delegation from St Francis School, Victoria, Gozo, recently travelled to Biancavilla, Sicily, to meet colleagues from other partner schools that are working together on a project about inclusion and solidarity, entitled 'Europa - Casa Comune' being funded by the European Commission's Lifelong Learning programme.

The Gozo school was represented by its head, Sr Francesca Abela, and two class teachers, Ramona Camilleri and Josephine Xuereb. During the meeting, which was held at the Scuola San Giovanni Bosco, in Biancavilla, the partners drew up a programme of activities for the coming year, which will centre on European children's rights and duties.

They also viewed an exhibition of students' work and watched a puppet show entitled 'Razzismo? No, Grazie!' performed by the school's Year 4 students.

The teachers also visited places of interest including Mt Etna and its regional park, the Duomo di Catania, Castello Ursino, Anfiteatro Romano and Villa Bellini.

A meeting to review the project's progress will be held in February in Slovakia.
