Gozo Channel’s trips in the first 11 days this month amounted to 784 - 58 more than during the same period last year.

This led to a shorter waiting time to board the ferries, the company said.

It said passenger numbers also went up from 183,754 to 201,689 - a 9.8 per cent increase.

The number of vehicles increased from 51,398 to 56,623, signifying an increase of 5,225 vehicles, translating into an increase of 10.2 per cent.
