“Atelier Gourmed”, a major Portuguese company specialising in the production and marketing of alimentary products, has for the first time included Gozitan food products in its Christmas Mail Order Catalogue on gourmet products from the Mediterranean.

The three Maltese products listed in the catalogue are Savina’s “Tomato spread for bread”; “Pickled Onion with Honey Syrup” and the “Sweet and Chili Pepper Paté”. Savina is the brand name of food products manufactured by the Magro Group Ltd of Xewkija, Gozo.

“Gourmed” director general Isaber Menano, said she was very happy to have Maltese products included in the prestigious Christmas Catalogue for the first time.

The catalogue is distributed to a broad public, but its ‘Christmas Edition’ has as its main target audience and clientele major companies and diplomatic missions in Portugal and Portuguese Speaking States ordering Christmas Hampers as gifts for their clients.

Ms Menano is interested in widening the presence of Maltese Gourmet Products on future editions of the catalogue and will be having further talks on this matter with the Embassy of Malta in Lisbon.

Maltese companies wishing to submit their products for evaluation by Gourmed for eventual inclusion in future editions are requested to signal their interest to the Malta Embassy in Lisbon (maltaembassy.lisbon@gov.mt).
