The Gozo Business Chamber has congratulated Lawrence Gonzi on his victory at the polls and said it hoped the country will continue to register economic growth.

The Chamber said it hopes that the proposals relating to Gozo included in the PN's electoral programme will be given priority in order for the island's economy to move ahead and create more jobs.

The Chamber noted with satisfaction the inclusion of most of its suggestions in the electoral programme and promised its support to the new Administration.

The Christian Democratic Students (SDM) also congratulated Dr Gonzi and the Nationalist Party. It said it hoped all decisions taken by the government during this legislature will be in the best interest of the nation.

"The SDM believes that the party in government should continue to offer more opportunities to all youth and students, both those attending the University of Malta, other universities and post-secondary institutions."
