For the fourth time, telecoms company Go was one of the winners of the annual Occupational Health and Safety Good Practice Awards.

The Occupational Health and Safety Authority hands out the awards after examining techniques companies use to assess, eliminate or reduce risks during a project that involves work at heights. The project entailed extensive planning and consultation with other entities and workers' safety representatives.

"At Go, we make it a point to ensure that measurable objectives are set up and achieved, hazards identified, risks assessed and standards of performance implemented - measures that contribute to the development of a positive safety culture across the company," Go's chief human resources officer Michelle Bonnici said.

"Every year, the company adopts new initiatives to further reduce health and safety risks for its workers. Such initiatives are even more effective in view of the huge commitment on the part of Go employees at large who are trained to be highly aware that safety is everyone's responsibility," she added.
