I thought of commenting on my own blog, but then I thought let's dignify Debono beyond his slight worth by dedicating another one to him and his apparent conviction that the sun shines out of his rear end.

So, the mask is now off: he thinks he's outside the gang and wants to be allowed to play with the big boys or he's going to huff and he's going to puff until he blows the house down.

So there.

Well, he's a free man and he has every right to his illusions, but if he thinks that anyone with even an ounce of self-respect would behave the way he has behaved up to now, then these illusions are even more serious than they appear to be.

The country, contrary to the pigeons that appear to be roosting in Debono's head, has not been suffering because his issues have not been addressed. Nor, in fact, should he be, as everyone but him knows. If he is suffering, then it is suffering of his own making, because it is he alone who has convinced himself that the world should bow at his feet and if it doesn't, it is because it is being controlled by an oligarchy or cabal or whatever it is he's seeing in the belfry.

The country, no thanks to Debono or the people who are laughing at him but not showing him they are, but every thanks to the PM and the Government, is actually making a pretty decent fist of things, everything considered. To the South, there's revolution, to the North and East and West there's economic turmoil, but we're surviving, despite Debono's poncing about and Labour's cynical abuse of his vulnerability.

Well, it's time for all this to change: Debono has now shown his true colours. Before today, he could get the benefit of the doubt, because some of his ideas were not at all bad, but now it has become crystal clear: Debono is in for what he can get for Debono.

The only thing Debono should get now is out. No Nationalist voted for him because he's such a great guy, and no Labourite with half a brain will trust him, so his political career is over.
