A 35-year-old man from Hamrun has pleaded not guilty to trafficking and possessing of, in amounts denoting it was not for his personal use.

Mark-George Falzon was also charged with committing the crime within 100 metres of a school.

He was charged with driving a car without a licence and insurance cover and with relapsing

Mr Falzon requested the court to appoint court experts to examine the fingerprints on the sachets of the drugs seized by the police since he is contending that the heroin did not belong to him.

Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera acceded to the request.

He did not request bail and was remanded in custody.
