Ghana has moved its entire embassy staff in Libya to Malta, following “threats” against the West African country’s Mission, according to Ghana Bulletin.

Deputy Foreign Minister Kwasi Quartey said the diplomats were evacuated after shots were fired at them at the embassy.

Hundreds of Ghanaians are also stuck in the middle of the clashes, but the Ghanaian government says there is little it can do to evacuate them to safer ground.
