The monument dedicated to former Prime Minister George Borg Olivier was put back in place in front of the Stock Exchange in Castille Square this morning in time for Independence Day celebrations.

The monument, which had been temporarily removed for the €1.6m embellishment works, will be located across the square from that of Manuel Dimech, which will eventually be erected in front of St James Cavalier, slightly shifted from its original position.

The works on the square are set to be completed in time for November’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
