The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) grew by 0.7 per cent in both the euro area (EU15) and the EU27 in the first quarter this year, compared to the previous quarter, according to flash estimates published by Eurostat.

Compared with the same quarter of the previous year, seasonally adjusted GDP grew by 2.2 per cent in the euro area and by 2.4 per cent in the EU27 in the first quarter this year, after increases of 2.2 per cent and 2.5 per cent respectively in the previous quarter.
