The Puttinu Cares Foundation hosted its first ever snooker competition at the Anglo Maltese League in Merchants Street, Valletta.
There was one snooker table solely assigned to the six-ball snooker competition and another was used by snooker enthusiasts for the 60-hour marathon.
All funds went directly to Puttinu Cares to continue the upkeep and help provide financial relief to those families whose children are being treated in the UK.
The foundation works in collaboration with the Rainbow Ward Staff at Mater Dei Hospital by helping them to buy much needed medical and recreational equipment and other essentials.
Patients are provided with first-class treatment and support and every child is treated individually not to feel neglected in any way during their intensive treatment at the ward.
Often, young patients have to continue their treatment at the Royal Marsden Hospital in the UK, which causes additional stress and strain on the family which finds itself in need of funding to travel and support themselves abroad while their child is being treated.
This is where the foundation offers its assistance and help and comes forward to provide funds and accommodation for the families of the young patients.
