Despite having a successful year, with the women's team winning GSSE gold and official Bernard Vassallo awarded numerous appointments for international games, basketball has become homeless.

Unfortunately, after the rainstorm of last September, the basketball pavilion at Ta' Qali was flooded and flooring damaged beyond repair.

As a consequence, our top leagues had to start a month later and we only managed thanks to an agreement with the management of the Corradino Pavilion. Despite securing regular playing weekends, we still ended up having to drop some competitions. It now seems that our court at Ta' Qali will still not be ready by the end of the season.

The weekend court availability at present covers solely the senior competitions. One sector that is definitely suffering is the U-19s.

Competitions started at Savio College but now it appears that we have lost the availability of this facility as well. No-one knows when and where the U-19s will play this season.

Indeed, we have gone from gold to homeless.
