The ninth race from the HSBC national four-stroke karting league took place last Sunday at Badger Karting. The Advanced Class started off with Steve Camilleri dominating the qualifiers, followed by Jacob Borg, dubbed as 'Mr Consistency' at Ta' Qali.

Camilleri also managed to take a comfortable lead during the first part of the race but mechanical failure in his kart set him back.

Andrea Frendo capitalised on Camilleri's misfortune to announce that she is back to form. Frendo took the lead and although she was put under pressure by Zack Zammit and Borg, she held on to record a fine win.

Zammit and Borg finished second and third respectively.

In the Novices Class, Luke Micallef was awarded pole over Jake Fenech on the grounds that he crossed the start/finish line before as both drivers ended the session with the same lap times.

The race was also a scorcher among these two fine young drivers as Fenech only managed to pip Micallef with his bumper at the finishing line. Ryan Scerri had to settle for third.
