Visit to Wied Incita Nursery

The Environment Committee is organising a visit to Wied Incita Nursery, Attard, on Tuesday, April 11, at 10.30 a.m. The price of Lm2.50 includes transport and refreshments.

Half day of recollection

Spiritual Director Mgr Lawrence Gatt will conduct the recollection service followed by Mass at noon at the NCW Centre, Mountbatten Street, Blata l-Bajda on Wednesday, April 12, at 9.30 a.m.

Elderly care

The Social Issues Committee is organising a talk on "Care versus Neglect of the Elderly", on Wednesday, April 26, at 6 p.m. at the NCW Centre, Blata l-Bajda.

The speaker will be Maria Camilleri, a social worker who specialises in gerontology. The elderly are exposed to the risks of neglect, sometimes even from relatives. Using case studies, Ms Camilleri will be speaking about why this can happen, how to recognise the symptoms, and what the state and NGOs provide in the way of assistance to the elderly.

BMV fund-raising concerts

The Bice Mizzi Vassallo fund-raising concerts will be held on Wednesday, April 26, at 8 p.m. at the Casino Maltese, Valletta, under the patronage of the President and Mrs Eddie Fenech Adami, and in Gozo on Friday, April 28 at Mgr Giuseppe Farrugia Hall, Victoria. Tickets Lm5. Sponsors include MIA, Sparkasse Bank Malta, and St George's Basilica, Gozo.

Presentation on the euro changeover

Joseph F.X. Zahra, chairman of the National Euro Changeover Committee, will address NCW members, affiliated organisations and friends on the Euro Adoption Strategy on Friday, May 5, at 6 p.m.

International Day of the Midwife
