• A jumble sale and book fair will be held today between 9.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. at the Island Sanctuary, Tas-Silġ, Delimara, Marsaxlokk, in aid of unwanted stray dogs.

• The Parents and Teachers Association of De La Salle College, Cottonera, will be holding the Grand Fair 2010 in the college grounds. Activities will include fun runs, football, table soccer, computer games and internet, face-painting, bouncy castle, a book sale, drink and food stalls and tug of war. There will also be the participation of local singers and dancers. Mass will be held at 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m.

• The Malta Chamber of Commerce will be hosting an information meeting on the importance of social media in business, entitled 'Home Truths about Social Media', at the Exchange Buildings in Valletta on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The meeting will be addressed by Alex Grech of Strategy Works. Mr Grech is a Ph.D researcher on social media networks at the University of Hull in the UK. The fee is €25 for members and €40 for non-members.

• The committee of St Catherine's band club culture section, Żurrieq, is organising a cultural outing on Sunday. The group leaves Żurrieq bus terminus for Sliema at 8.15 a.m. to go on a harbour cruise. This will be followed by lunch in Mġarr. Mass will be celebrated at Providence church, Siġġiewi.
