Hearts Win: Hearts cut the gap on leaders Celtic to three points with a 3-1 win at Aberdeen in yesterday's Scottish Premier League clash with all four goals and a dismissal coming in the last 26 minutes at Pittodrie. An entertaining game played in heavy rain swung Hearts way in the 64th minute when Christophe Berra flicked home the opener. Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla, who was sent off six minutes from time, rammed a low shot into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 after 76 minutes and Lithuanian midfielder Saulius Mikoliunas drilled a third five minutes later. A minute after that Aberdeen substitute Dyron Daal pulled a goal back when he fired home a low shot from 10 metres out.

Dhorasoo: PSG coach Guy Lacombe said yesterday France midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo no longer had a place in his first team because he was not good enough. "Vikash asked me for an explanation and I told him he was not performing well enough," Lacombe told reporters. Dhorasoo stirred controversy last month when France coach Raymond Domenech criticised him after discovering the PSG midfielder was planning a documentary film on the World Cup runners-up. "Vikash should start a new career and it's maybe what he is trying to do", Domenech said at the time. "When you become a spectator of other people you cannot pretend to be an actor any more."

Cicinho: Real Madrid's Brazilian international defender Cicinho has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, the Primera Liga club said yesterday. The 26-year-old right back will need surgery and is expected to be out of action for a large part of the season after suffering the injury during his side's 1-0 win away to Real Betis in the league on Saturday. Cicinho turned awkwardly while challenging for the ball in Seville and was carried off on a stretcher in the 29th minute. Real host Dynamo Kiev in Champions League Group E tomorrow having lost their opening match 2-0 away to Lyon.

Ronaldo: Ronaldo misses playing for Brazil and wants to bounce back next year by helping them retain the Copa America. "I miss playing for the national team. Next year, there's a Copa America and I want to help Brazil win that title again," said Ronaldo, who won the tournament in 1997 and 1999. Ronaldo, who played alongside Dunga at the 1998 World Cup, predicted a bright future for the former captain who is now the coach of Brazil. "I think Dunga will do well, he's got a lot of character, he knows the players and he certainly won't be influenced by external factors," he said.
