Stephen Azzopardi is no longer Floriana FC coach.

Club officials confirmed that they reached a mutual agreement with Mr Azzopardi to be relieved off his duties after only a couple of months in charge.

The decision was taken following the shock exit from the FA Trophy following a 1-0 upset to Division One leaders Lija Athletic on Wednesday.

A Floriana spokesman told The Times that assistant coach Gary Horward will be responsible for the upcoming fixture against Rabat. A new coach will probably be appointed next week.

Azzopardi had taken over the reins at Floriana in October replacing Mark Wright.
