The 12th edition of the Gill MYSC Foundation Day Regatta was held at St Paul's Bay on the last weekend of March. This annual regatta, held under the auspices of the Malta Sailing Federation, is a ranking event for the Optimist and Laser categories.

A sizeable fleet of sailors from the Malta Young Sailors' Club (MYSC) and the Birżebbuġa Sailing Club completed six races over the weekend, sailing in north-westerly force five winds that tested the abilities of all sailors, some as young as seven years old.

The Optimist Class was divided into three categories. Edward Fleri Soler, winner of the Gill Shield Award, placed first in the seniors category, followed by Nicola Manduca in second place, while Thomas Bonello Ghio was third.

The top sailor in the Cadet Class was Robert Muscat. Kathryna Esposito finished second, followed by Sean Valentino in third. In the Novice Class, Jacob Saliba claimed first place ahead of Nick Vassallo and Miguel D'Alessandro.

Thomas Sammut Allessi took the honours in the Laser Class, followed by Ella Fleri Soler in second and Abigail Fenech in third.

The regatta was sponsored by Gill, represented in Malta by Gauci Borda Ltd, and a prize-giving ceremony rounded off yet another successful sailing weekend at the MYSC clubhouse in St Paul's Bay.
