Renault team manager Flavio Briatore told the magazine Diario on Wednesday that he will continue to head the French team next year. He also backed his former protege, Fernando Alonso, to win the title this year with McLaren.

Alonso left Renault at the end of last year after winning back to back titles with the French squad. He currently lies second in the championship table, 10 points behind team-mate Lewis Hamilton.
