It has been another privilege to spend a short stay in Mater Dei Hospital. It truly is five-star treatment, from the staff to the food and all the amenities.

As I lay in bed after my minor operation, I could not but notice how the staff were so kind to all the patients, even when doing such demeaning jobs that an ordinary man in the street would run a mile from.

Yes, these are the nurses, both ladies and gentlemen, that have chosen this as their career and who should be the highest paid in the land. One day or another we shall all need them - I can only have the highest respect for them all, even down to the cleaners.

They are certainly angels of mercy.
