A lacklustre Fiorentina wasted the chance to climb into the fourth Champions League qualifying spot when they were beaten 3-1 at Udinese in Serie A today.
Fourth-placed Genoa's 1-0 defeat by Lazio yesterday had opened the door for the Florence club but Gaetano D'Agostino's double helped give Udinese a comfortable victory.
Bottom side Reggina boosted their outside hopes of survival with a 1-0 win at Atalanta. With six games left, the southern club are four points adrift of fourth-bottom Torino, who visit third-placed Milan later.
Bologna remain third-bottom after succumbing 4-1 at Palermo in a poor first game in charge for Giuseppe Papadopulo while Lecce, two points below, lost 3-2 at sixth-placed Roma.
