The father of a 10-month-old girl has filed an application in the family court claiming breach of his fundamental human rights because he was being denied access to his daughter.

The father claimed that his former partner registered their daughter as having an unknown father.

But during the procedures, he presented a DNA report proving that the child was his. In spite of this, the mother still refused to grant him access.

The father said that the family court also refused to acknowledge his request for access to his daughter simply because he was not registered as the father on the birth certificate in spite of the DNA report proving he was.

David Camilleri and Joseph Gatt appeared for the father.
