Red Bull's quadruple world champion Sebastian Vettel comfortably won the  US grand prix this evening and became the first driver to win eight races in a single season.

The all-time record of nine in a row was set by Italian Alberto Ascari over the course of two seasons in 1952/53.

Romain Grosjean of Lotus came in second, closely followed by Red Bull's Mark Webber.

Next came Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) Hulkenberg (Sauber), Perez (McLaren) Bottas (Williams) Rosberg (Mercedes) and Button (McLaren).
