An academic staff seminar is being organised by the QAC in collaboration with the Matsec Unit. Professor Roger Murphy, director of the Institute for Research into Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (IRLTHE) at the University of Nottingham, UK, will lead a discussion on institutional strategies for promoting excellence in teaching and learning in higher education. This will include a consideration of teaching prizes, certificated courses for new lecturers and models for sharing innovative teaching approaches between experienced academics.

The seminar will be held on Monday, January 16, from 11.30 a.m. to 12.45 p.m. in the Conference Room at University House. Academic members of staff who wish to attend are to call Professor Farrugia's office on 2340-2553 or e-mail veronica. attard@um.edu.mt.
