The Department of Anthropology at the Johns Hopkins University requires six research fellows for a project under the Rockefeller Foundation Resident Fellowships in the Humanities and Study of Culture Programme.

The Child on the Wing project focuses on the mobile trajectories of children's lives under conditions of ongoing political violence and economic uncertainty. There will be a workshop next October in which the moral creativity of children is discussed through such practices as storytelling, artistic creation and the creation of self through engagement with the social institutions in their local worlds.

Abstracts of 250 words are invited along with a CV and a writing sample from applicants to take up fellowships for a one-week residence at Johns Hopkins University that will culminate in the workshop described above. There will be intensive dialogue and discussions during that week.

Applicants should be at least three years beyond receipt of the Ph.D. or have three years of experience with NGOs or policy making. The fellowship includes support for travel and accommodation. The application deadline is February 15.
