Marlon Bugeja obtained his first win in the U-19 European Snooker Championships in Ireland on Tuesday, beating Mitchel de Kok of Holland by three frames to one.

Bugeja, who lost his opening match 3-0 to group leader Johnny Connors of Ireland, made a 51-break in the second frame of his match against de Kok.

David Cortis, the other Maltese player in the championships, went down to Irish Albert Kenny in his first group match.

Yesterday, Cortis was due to meet Mark Allen (N. Ireland) while Bugeja crossed cues with Kim van Der Kellen (Belgium).
