Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi yesterday visited works on Ta' Pinu road in Gozo, which is being widened in a €3.7 million project.

The project will ease accessibility to the sanctuary of Our Lady of Ta' Pinu and forms part of a €9.5 million infrastructure plan for Gozo. The Prime Minister said the government was also investing in projects such as the Institute of Tourism Studies in Gozo to increase job opportunities in the tourism sector.

Other projects include the Santa Marta day centre for the disabled which was opened last June, a facility for the collection of bulky refuse in Xewkija set up in July and the building of a secondary boys' school in Victoria.
