Three men were fined €3,600 (Lm 1,545) yesterday after they pleaded guilty to illegally employing a Libyan, a Serbian and a Chinese.

Magistrate Antonio Mizzi heard Alfredo Spiteri De Barro, 29, of Swieqi, and Angelo Paolini, 50, of St Julians admit to illegally employing the three foreigners during and before this month.

Edward Cachia, 43, of San Ġwann, pleaded guilty to illegally employing people at ED's Kiosk in Paceville on June 16.

The court fined them €1,200 (Lm515.02) each.

Police Inspectors Nezren Grixti and Sandro Zarb prosecuted.

Lawyer John Gauci appeared for Mr Cachia.

Lawyer Josè Herrera appeared for Mr De Barro and Mr Paolini.
