Dubai-based airline Emirates said it remains confident in giant Airbus A380 aircraft, despite some technical problems, and denied it had cancelled any orders.

"Our confidence in the A380 remains unchanged, it is an excellent aircraft and feedback from our customers thus far has been very positive," the company said in a statement.

"We have no plans to cancel any orders."

The Germany weekly Der Spiegel said in its Monday issue that Emirates is unhappy with its first four Airbus A380 aircraft, which showed manufacturing faults that forced flights to be cancelled.

Der Spiegel said Emirates last month gave officials of the European planemaker a 46-page report listing its complaints, including burned electric cables, missing cabin fittings and engine defects.

"We recently met with Airbus executives to give them feedback on the A380's reliability performance, including various technical issues which we had identified during our operations," the Emirates statement said.
