ElectroGas Malta has been handed an  IJ Global Best European Power Project of the year award for 'excellence, achievement and innovation in energy and infrastructure.

The presentation ceremony, held in London, highlighted the success that governments have enjoyed in diversifying their economies and energy sources.

ElectroGas Malta’s CEO Franz Doefler said: “It’s an honour for us and for Malta to receive such prestigious international recognition for our ability to deliver and fulfill our obligations to the nation.”

In 2014 ElectroGas Malta won the bid to build and operate a power plant using Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to generate electricity. The project aims to enhance Malta’s power generation with high efficiency CCGT power plant that will reduce emissions by half and particulate matter by 90%.
