A Dutchman was arrested at the airport when he was found to be carrying around 400 grammes of cocaine - in his underwear and his stomach - after he came off a plane on Sunday evening, the police said yesterday.

The 21-year-old passenger was stopped by Drug Squad police after flying in from Amsterdam. The operation was carried out jointly with Customs. The man was found to have 11 capsules hidden in his underwear and was suspected to be carrying drugs in his stomach. So he was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for a medical exam, where doctors found 43 capsules allegedly containing cocaine in his stomach.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli is holding an inquiry.
