Labour market data for last October provided by the Employment and Training Corporation indicate a drop of 231 persons in the labour supply over the same month in 2004.

The National Statistics Office said this dip came about after an increase of 820 persons in the gainfully occupied population and a decrease of 1,051 persons on the unemployment register.

With regard to part-time employment, the ETC figures for October indicate that the number of people with a part-time job went up by 3,672. This figure translates into 2,272 persons whose part-time job is the primary livelihood and 1,400 persons whose part-time job is their secondary occupation, the NSO said.
