In order to assist players of all levels perform to the maximum of their potential during training sessions, the Table Tennis Nursery (TTN) have invested in a ball computer.
This equipment is designed to be electronically pre-programmed to feed balls at different velocities, angles, spin and intensity.
TTN head David Pace and English coach David Read said the state-of-the-art Donic ball computer, commonly known as a table tennis robot, will be used to its maximum.
In addition to conventional training, children will have the opportunity to learn the basic and more technical strokes in a more effective and faster manner.
"The robot will represent only a small but vital percentage of the training programme because players still need to be guided under the supervision of experienced instructors," the TTN said in a statement.
The acquisition of the robot was made possible thanks to the partnership between TTN and Malta Sports Online. These two entities share a common interest in promoting table tennis among Maltese youngsters.
