Depiro McDonald's came from behind to eliminate Luxol from the women's BOV KO and will now face holders Hibs Medsea in the final.

Adrian Mifsud's Depiro tilted the balance in their favour after profiting from their opponents' fouls situation in the last six minutes.

Also, Luxol did not have a full squad available and tired out in the most crucial phase of this cup tie. However, this was another close affair between Depiro and Luxol with the lead changing hands several times.

Luxol started the match stronger but Depiro hit back to finish the first quarter 17-11 in front. At the start of the second session, Luxol again showed better qualities to take an 18-17 lead only for Depiro to go 24-23 up after applying some pressure on their opponents before half-time.

Thirteen consecutive points in the first five minutes of the third quarter saw Luxol 36-24 ahead. However, with few options on the bench they were unable to maintain their aggressive stance in defence and Depiro, mainly through Greta Zarb's sharp shooting, took a 56-50 lead with five minutes left.

Luxol tried hard to recover but there was little fight left in them as Depiro were in control of the situation to book a place in the final with a 65-61 victory.

In the other semi-final, Hibs were never troubled by Athleta who were playing their second match in a space of a few days. Athleta's opening looked encouraging but Hibs soon imposed their play to open a 33-16 lead midway through the second session.

Athleta, however, regrouped to close the gap to 39-34 after five minutes of the third quarter but Hibs' reaction was overwhelming as they went on to record a 70-44 victory.

Sunday: BOV KO final - 16.15 Depiro vs Hibs.
