Datatrak I.T. Services Ltd, a Maltese software company operating from the Mosta Technopark, has once again developed mobile data terminal software for a UK firm.

Following the system it developed recently for one of the UK's largest operators in the AVRO (Association of Vehicle Recovery Operators) sector, Datatrak IT has now created a similar system for another UK car recovery firm, Hinton.

The newly developed software allows for better management of vehicles and journeys, and makes for easier job dispatching and processing, cutting down on costs and increasing efficiency. It is an electronic system, which receives job information from recovery vehicles in a form that can be easily read and replied to by the driver.

Jean Galea Souchet, account manager for Datatrak IT, expressed satisfaction with what he described as the consolidation of the company's position. Commenting on Siemens Datatrak's decision to once again entrust Datatrak IT (Malta) with the development of software for its clients, he added that the Maltese company was chosen because of its track record.

"We were asked to do the job because we have proved we can deliver on time, to specification, and in line with Siemens' quality standards," project manger Roland Scerri said.
